Agreement To Be Reached At End Of Cyprus Talks To Come Onto Parliament's Agenda

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that agreement to be reached at the end of talks to start in Cyprus on February 19 would come onto parliament's agenda in the very end.
Prior to his departure for Kuwait, Gul told reporters that the parliament would say the last word.
Asked if there would be any constitutional problem related with parliament's approval for agreement to be reached at the end of Cyprus talks, Gul said, ''no, the parliament will say the last word. A voting will be held at parliament as the last step.''
When asked if the voting would take place in parliament after a referendum in Cyprus, Gul said, ''the issue will come onto agenda of parliament as a last step. I don't know about domestic law of Greece. They may take up the issue before or after if their domestic law allows. But, under our Constitution, the parliament will say the final word.''
Gul stated that everything would be open and transparent in Cyprus issue, adding, ''nothing can be secret in such a national issue.''
