Istanbul Strait Re-opened To Transit Ship Traffic

ISTANBUL - Istanbul Strait was re-opened on Saturday to transit ship traffic on Saturday.
Officials of Directorate General of Coastal Security and Ship Rescue Enterprises said that ships which had been kept waiting in the Black Sea since Thursday due to bad weather conditions, were allowed to pass through Istanbul Strait as of Saturday noon.
The officials noted that ships which had anchored on Marmara Sea would be allowed to set sail at 3.30 p.m.
Istanbul was under influence of heavy snowfall on Thursday and Friday.
