ISTANBUL - Sales of automobiles rose 304.5 percent in January of 2004 when compared to sales in January of 2003.
According to the statistics of the Association of Automotive Distributors (ODD), 16,813 imported and 8,812 domestic automobiles were sold last month.
In the same period, sales of light commercial vehicles rose 121.8 percent to 10,374.
Imported automobiles had a 65.6 percent share in total sales in January of 2004.
In January of 2003, 6,335 automobiles and 4,677 light commercial vehicles had been sold.
