NEW YORK - U.N. will not leave the concerned sides regarding Cyprus talks until a result is taken.
Turkish Cypriot, Greek Cypriot, Turkish and Greek delegations are kept in four separate rooms that belonged to U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan in the 38th floor of U.N. headquarters and U.N. officials separately meet with delegations in those rooms.
Diplomats who contacted with journalists by mobile phones said that they could not have contact with other delegations and noted that they were isolated in a way.
Meanwhile U.N. Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Kieran Prendergast said that the four parties were in separate rooms, with U.N. special envoy Alvaro de Soto shuttling between them. ''It's good that they're still talking. They're going to stay as long as it takes,'' he said adding that diplomacy lasted long.
While the third-day negotiations continue in New York till late at night, Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal, Undersecretary Baki Ilkin and other officials have continued their talks with American delegations in delegates lounge as many places in the building were closed.
