Cyprus Talks Second Day Starts In U.N.

NEW YORK - Second day session of Cyprus talks organized by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan started at 11 p.m. Turkish local time in the U.N. headquarters in New York on Wednesday.
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas and Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos came to the building for talks.
Leaders did not make any statement before the meeting.
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's special envoy to Cyprus Alvaro De Soto and U.S. Special Cyprus Coordinator Thomas Weston held diplomatic talks earlier the same day.
U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard earlier said that U.N. asked guarantor states to put pressure on sides in Cyprus to reach a solution.
U.N. Secretary General Annan is expected to make a statement after Wednesday's session.
