1st Round Of Debates Completed On Constitutional Amendment Bill

ANKARA - Turkish Parliamentary General Assembly completed the first round of voting on the constitutional amendment bill on Monday.
The bill foresees election of the president by popular vote, lowers term in office of the president from seven to five years and allows him/her to be re-elected for a second five years, and envisages holding general elections every four years.
The second round will be held on May 10th.
