ISTANBUL/EDIRNE/AYVACIK - Security forces arrested a total of 192 illegal migrants in operations launched in Istanbul, northwestern cities of Edirne and Canakkale, sources told A.A on Monday.
In an operation launched on three houses at Beyoglu district of Istanbul, police arrested 32 Chinese and Pakistanis who sneaked into Turkey illegally.
Meanwhile, gendarmery arrested 11 Iraqis, 16 Pakistanis, 1 Bangladeshi and 12 Palestinians who tried to pass border illegally in Ipsala town of Edirne.
Gendarmery also, in another operation in Ipsala, Enez, Meric towns and Bosnakoy village of Edirne, arrested 80 Lebanese, Somalian, Georgian, Iranian, Palestinian, Iraqi, Uzbek, Mauritanian and Chinese who were trying to pass border illegally.
On the other hand, gendarmery arrested 11 Afghans, 28 Mauritanians and 1 Iranian in Ayvacik town of Canakkale.
Illegal migrants will be deported after legal procedures.
