CDU Nominates Two Turkish Descent To Run In Hamburg

HAMBURG - Aygul Ozkan and Abut Can are nominated as candidates on the list of Christian Democrat (CDU) party in Hamburg, for the elections to be held in 2008.
Chairman of CDU election commission Juergen Klimke announced that Aygul Ozkan and Abut Can will run as candidates in the 15th and 51st rows, respectively.
Sources told that Aygul Ozkan who is the chairperson of the Turkish Employers & Entrepreneurs Union (ATU) and depot manager of TNT Post Hamburg, stands a good chance to be elected.
On the other hand Abut Can, who is the member of the administrative board of CDU in Rothenburgsort-Veddel district, said his candidacy is for effect and he is not a real candidate.
The names of the candidates will be ratified at a meeting of board of representatives in Hamburg, on June 2nd.
