ANKARA - Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson will pay an official visit to Turkey between February 17 and 18.
A statement of the Prime Ministry Press Center said on Wednesday that Persson and accompanying delegation would come to Turkey on February 17.
After holding a tete-a-tete meeting with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Persson and Erdogan will chair meeting between Turkish-Swedish delegations.
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc will receive Persson.
The statement said that Persson's visit would be the first official visit from Sweden to Turkey in the level of prime ministers and stressed that it was an important sign of recent developments recorded in bilateral relations.
Bilateral relations as well as Turkey-European Union (EU) relations and regional and international issues will be taken up during meetings of Persson in Turkey.
Persson is expected to depart from Turkey on February 18.
