Cargo Ship Runs Aground At Canakkale Strait

CANAKKALE - A Saint Kitts Navis-flagged cargo ship ran aground off the coast of Cape Kanarya at Canakkale Strait on Monday, maritime officials said.
The 91-meter cargo ship, Machail-M, which was carrying iron from Bulgaria to Guinea, did not pose a threat to other vessels navigating through the Strait, officials added.
The captain of the ship has not requested assistance while a coaster and firefighter boat was dispatched to the area.
