ANKARA - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Parliamentary Group Deputy Chairman Haluk Ipek said on Wednesday that they postponed the pre-discussion of the motion for a general parliamentary debate on the Cyprus issue in order not to affect the Cyprus talks in New York.
Replying questions of reporters at the parliament, Ipek said that the general debate would be held at a later date.
Asked whether or not they would wait for completion of talks in New York, Ipek said, ''no, they may last long. We want to wait for today's talks and we don't want to affect those meetings.''
Ipek added that the general debate might be held on Thursday or on next Tuesday, according to developments.
