Turkey Raises $472 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 129 thousand 567 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 472 million 847 thousand U.S. dollars in the 23rd week of hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Wednesday that Turkey was exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
They said that Turkey exported 105 thousand 294 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 13 thousand 143 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 7 thousand 365 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 3 thousand 765 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the last export season, Turkey had exported 177 thousand 6 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 400 million 166 thousand 690 U.S. dollars.
