Turkey Starts Studies For Ratification Of Additional Protocol Of International Convention On Civil And Political Rights

ANKARA - Turkey has started studies for ratification of Additional Protocol of the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights.
The additional protocol is about acceptance of the authority of Human Rights Committee set up by the Convention to examine individual applications.
Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the protocol was signed on February 3 and thus Turkey fulfilled another obligation mentioned in the reviewed EU Accession Partnership Document and in its national programme.
The Ministry noted that studies for ratification of the additional protocol started and it would be transferred to the parliament as soon as possible for ratification.
