Denktas - Annan - Papadopoulos Meeting Not In U.N. Program

NEW YORK - The tripartite meeting of TRNC President Rauf Denktas, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan and Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos in New York which is scheduled to start at 11.00 p.m. Turkish local time in New York, was not included in the U.N.'s official daily working program.
U.N. officials said they were waiting for completion of the meeting between Annan's Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro de Soto and Papadopoulos to officially announce the tripartite meeting.
Sources said that Annan would have a tete-a-tete meeting with Papadopoulos at 10.30 p.m. and with Denktas at 10.45 p.m. Turkish local time, and later they would hold a tripartite meeting.
Also De Soto would attend the tripartite meeting, sources added.
