WARSAW - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that all people were living in peace in Turkey.
Gul, who is paying an official visit to Poland, delivered a speech on Turkey's approaches to European Union (EU) at the College of Europe Natolin.
Replying to a question on Kurds in Turkey, Gul said, ''there are books in Kurdish, and films in Kurdish are shown in the cinemas. There are billboards in Kurdish. You could not imagine all these last year, but we have achieved them through democratic means. Also, many people with very different origins are living in Turkey. For example, there are more Bosnians in Turkey than Bosnians living in Bosnia and more Chechens than Chechens living in Chechnya. They don't have any problems. If they want, they can become a president, prime minister, foreign minister and deputy. We don't give any privilege to anybody. We are all living in peace.''
