Seven Civilians Wounded In Terrorist Attacks In Irbil Brought To Ankara For Medical Treatment

ANKARA - Seven civilians who were wounded in terrorist attacks against offices of Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (IKDP) and Iraqi Patriotic Union for Kurdistan (PUK) in Irbil on Feb. 1 were brought to Ankara for medical treatment as a result of Turkey's initiatives.
Foreign Ministry's Information Department noted on Monday that Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul had sent a letter of condolence to the leaders of IKDP and PUK and stressed that Turkey was ready to give medical treatment to wounded persons.
PUK leader Jalal Talabani sent a thank-you letter to Foreign Minister Gul and voiced the desire to send some wounded persons to Turkey for treatment, it was noted. Ministry said that seven Iraqi civilians were transferred to Turkey from Habur border gate on February 6, they were brought to Ankara the same day and their treatment started.
IKDP leader Massaud Barzani also sent a letter and thanked Foreign Minister Gul due to Turkey's desire to treat wounded persons.
