ANKARA - The government respects the decision of the Constitutional Court, said government spokesman and Justice Minister Cemil Cicek on Tuesday.
The Constitutional Court with majority of vote cancelled the first round of the vote for the president and stopped the process as they saw the first round of vote was against the Constitution.
"Under Article 153 of the Constitution, the decisions of the Constitutional Court are published in the Official Gazette immediately after they are announced. And it binds legislative, executive and judicial organs, as well as real and legal bodies. Therefore, we respect this decision as everybody and every government who respects law," Cicek told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
