ISTANBUL - Amnesty International (AI) Secretary General Irene Khan arrived in Turkey late on Sunday to meet with government officials and representatives of civil organizations.
Khan and accompanying delegation will have meetings on human rights with government members and non-governmental organizations in Istanbul, Ankara and Diyarbakir.
Sources said that Khan and accompanying delegation would visit the Human Rights Association and AI Turkey Office in Istanbul early on Monday.
The delegation will proceed to Ankara an February 10 and they will be received by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul. The delegation will have meetings also with non-governmental organizations' representatives.
Sources said that AI delegation would proceed from Ankara to Diyarbakir on February 13.
