NEVSEHIR - "Japan is the favorite market of Turkish wine industry. Selective and rich Japanese customers enjoy Turkish wine," Hasan Turasan, chairman of Turkish wine producer Turasan Corp., said on Monday.
"Japanese tourists like the wine they taste during their tour of the Cappadocia region," said head of Turasan Corp. which is located in central Anatolian city of Nevsehir.
"Upon demand from Japanese tourists, we started exporting our wine to Japan 8 years ago," he added.
Turasan noted that the value of annual wine exports to Japan is between 200,000 - 250,000 USD. The company aims to double the amount of exports in the coming years.
The factory which has a production capacity of 2 million liters, exports 20 percent of its wine production.
