ISTANBUL - "Turkey is in full harmony with the EU in the aspects of both political and economic criteria," said Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler who received Steve Stevaert, Governor of Belgian Limburg province, on Monday.
Guler said that many Turks are living in Belgium and especially in Limburg province, and Turks undertake missions at administration of this country.
Regarding Turkey's EU accession process, Guler said that Turkey has already been a part of Europe, and an EU concept covering Turkey will be more influential.
On the other hand, Belgian Governor Stevaert said that nearly 30,000 Turks are living in Limburg, and Turks undertake very important roles in commerce in the region.
Stevaert added that they are exerting efforts for Turkey's accession to the EU.
Meanwhile, Governor Guler had a meeting with also Peter Thomson, Director of Infrastructure Sector in the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank.
