Turkey Raises $465.7 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 127 thousand 779 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 465 million 731 thousand U.S. dollars in the 22nd week of hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that Turkey was exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
They said that Turkey exported 103 thousand 690 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 12 thousand 851 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 7 thousand 264 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 3 thousand 704 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the last export season, Turkey had exported 170 thousand 558 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 384 million 763 thousand 898 U.S. dollars.
