URGUP - Nearly 50 thousand Japanese tourists are expected to visit Cappadocia region in central Nevsehir province in 2004.
Dorak Tourism official Ahmet Korukcu told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that nearly 30 thousand Japanese tourists visited Cappadocia region in 2003 and stated that Cappadocia tours for Japanese people would start as of March 2004. Korukcu added that they expected nearly 50 thousand Japanese tourists to visit the region.
Goreme Open Air Museum, Cavusin and Gulsehir St. Jean churches, Zelve Ruins, underground cities of Mazi, Tatlarin, Derinkuyu, Kaymakli and Ozkonak and Gulsehir Open Palace Ruins are among touristic places of the region.
