ANKARA - Presidential candidate FM Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday that his visits to the opposition parties did not aim at ensuring the presence of 367 lawmakers at the first round of Presidential election.
Gul answered questions from the press at the reception held on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the Constitutional Court in Ankara.
Gul said his visits to the opposition parties had nothing to do with the 367 issue and said they were a necessity of democracy. Gul underlined that he had no worries regarding the 367 issue and indicated that his approach to visit the opposition leaders and learn their views was a sign showing his stance as president in the future should he be elected.
Gul underscored that the foreign policy of the Republic of Turkey would continue without change if he was elected.
