AKP Does Not Refrain From Early Elections, Erdogan

ANKARA - "Justice & Development Party (AKP) does not avoid early elections but the country does not need early elections," Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
Erdogan spoke to reporters at a reception held on the occasion of the 45th Anniversary of the foundation of the Constitutional Court in Ankara.
Erdogan said the quorum requesting the presence of 367 MPs during the presidential voting was not logical under 1982 constitution.
"Turkey elected 10 presidents so far. This election will be same as others," Erdogan said.
Turkish PM indicated that holding early elections would not be a solution, noting that presence of a majority of 367 law makers may not be achieved even after the new elections.
