ANKARA - "We believe that if Abdullah Gul is elected president, he will embrace whole Turkey," Union of Turkish Chambers & Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu said on Wednesday.
Hisarciklioglu met Prince Radu, Romanian special representative for integration, cooperation & sustainable development.
Following the meeting, Hisarciklioglu told reporters, "I think that the presidential election process should be finalized as soon as possible. We should concentrate on our economy without wasting time."
Referring to the relations with Romania, Hisarciklioglu said, "our trade volume with Romania rose up to 5 billion USD. We aim at further increasing this amount. Turkish construction firms have undertaken significant projects in Romania."
Meanwhile, Prince Radu said in his part that there were 10 thousand Turkish companies in his country, and that Turkey, together with Italy and Germany, was the most important commercial partner of Romania.
