Court Sends Contractor And Subcontractor Of Collapsed Building In Konya To Prison

KONYA - Konya Criminal Court of Peace sent on Friday the contractor and subcontractor of the building which collapsed in central Konya province on Monday, to prison.
The court on duty imprisoned contractor Vedat Kaya and subcontractor Ismail Canlier to prison after an eleven-storey building collapsed in Selcuklu town of Konya on Monday.
An eleven-storey building collapsed in Selcuklu town of Konya province on Monday, killing 54. There were 37 flats in the building.
Search and rescue teams throughout Turkey had joined relief efforts at the scene of the collapse.
The Red Crescent had sent humanitarian aid to the spot, including tents, blankets and foodstuff.
