DIYARBAKIR - Turkey will give medical treatment to twelve Iraqi children.
Speaking to the A.A correspondent on Thursday, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Mehdi Eker from southeastern province of Diyarbakir, said that Turkey had been extending humanitarian aid to help Iraqi people who had been encountering difficult days.
Recalling that the Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) had put into practice projects on opening of two hospitals in Iraq and it had been sending humanitarian aid to Iraqi people, Eker said, ''under these efforts, Turkey will treat twelve Iraqi children. Most of them are from settlements in the northern part of Iraq. They will depart from Baghdad tomorrow and my colleagues Turhan Comez and Cevdet Erdol and I will greet them at the Habur Border Gate. We will host them in Diyarbakir for one night and we will bring them to Istanbul with airplane. They will be treated at the Kosuyolu State Hospital and the Memorial Hospital in Istanbul.''
Officials said most of those children either have cardiac insufficiency or suffer cerebral tumor.
