ANKARA - Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and the chief negotiator for Iran`s nuclear program, stated that he arrived in Ankara in order to discuss fresh ideas that might be brought up during the talks with Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.
Repyling to questions at Ankara`s Esenboga airport, Larijani recalled that they had previously met with Solana, however, "some unacceptable and irrational conditions came up afterwards".
Stressing that they arrived in Ankara to discuss new ideas regarding the issue, Larijani said he is unaware at this point what would be offered to him.
Larijani also underscored that Iran acted in accordance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Larijani who will first attend a luncheon to be hosted by Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will meet Solana at Ankara`s Swissotel in the afternoon.
Larijani and Solana will also have a meeting with FM and Deputy PM Abdullah Gul on Thursday morning and hold a joint press conference.
