ANKARA - "All people and institutions should work harder now than before in regard to maintain the constitutional order," Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said on Wednesday.
Sending a message to Constitutional Court chief justice Tulay Tugcu on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the court, President Sezer remarked that it is one of the most important institutions of the Turkish Republic. Sezer also underlined that the Court preserves secular and democratic constitutional order aas well as modern Turkish Republic.
"The Constitutional Court plays an effective role in functioning of the state of law and guarantee the supremacy of law," Sezer underlined.
President Sezer added that the court was one of the most important guaranty of basic rights and freedoms, as well as democracy.
