BOLU - ``New Turkish Penal Code (TCK) was translated into English``, Dr. Vahit Bicak, law expert and translator told A.A on Wednesday.
The translated version of TCK will be distributed to embassies, permanent missions of foreign countries in Turkey, as well as to non-governmental organizations.
Dr. Bicak said that he translated TCK --which came into force on June 1st, 2005-- jointly with British lawyer Edward Grieves, in 6 months. He added that they aimed to correctly introduce Turkish penal and justice system.
Dr. Bicak said that they translated TCK upon a request by the British Embassy in Ankara, and the text was delivered to Justice Ministry.
On the other hand, Ozcan Avci, Director of Turkish Justice Ministry Training Department, told A.A that the ministry has a joint project with British Embassy regarding penal law training. He added that TCK was translated into English within the scope of this project.
