ANKARA - Republican People`s Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Mustafa Ozyurek said on Tuesday that CHP leader Deniz Baykal told FM Abdullah Gul that they would file case at the Constitutional Court if a minimum of 367 lawmakers do not show up at the first round of the presidential election.
Ozyurek also said CHP would not attend the presidential election.
Holding a press conference after the meeting between FM Gul and CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal, Ozyurek said that FM Gul clearly expressed that he was visiting to ask for CHP`s support at the presidential election.
Ozyurek said Baykal criticized Erdogan for mis-managing the election process, shutting the way for negotiation with the main opposition party, not informing the public, not allowing dialogue and his party`s undemocratic stance and told Gul that it was not possible for them to give him their support at this stage.
