KONYA - Death toll rose on Thursday to 40 in the eleven-storey building which collapsed in central Konya province.
Officials said that it was difficult to identify the bodies since the bodies were unrecognizable.
The officials noted that three of bodies which had been unearthed were identified as Saban Uysal, 56, Nurdane Uysal, 2, and Gulten Uysal, 40.
Efforts were under way to identify the other, the officials added.
An eleven-storey building collapsed in Selcuklu town of Konya province on Monday. There were 37 flats in the building.
Search and rescue teams throughout Turkey had joined relief efforts at the spot of the incident.
The Red Crescent had sent humanitarian aid to the spot, including tents, blankets and foodstuff.
Three contractors of the building had been captured.
