ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul flew on Wednesday to Brussels.
Prior to his departure, Gul told reporters that he would meet European Union (EU) Commissioner for enlargement Guenter Verheugen, EU Foreign Policy and Defense Chief Javier Solana and Foreign Affairs Minister of Luxembourg Lydie Polfer in Brussels.
Gul said that if Turkey's full membership negotiations was to start on the expected days, Luxembourg would be the EU term president those days.
He would represent Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the Congress of European People's Party in Brussels, Gul noted.
Gul said that he would meet with political leaders attending that congress.
He would share his views about developments in and outside Turkey during his meetings, Gul stated.
Gul is expected to return to Turkey on Friday.
