ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Tuesday that wholesale prices rose by 2.6 percent and consumer prices increased by 0.7 percent in January of 2004 over to the same period last year.
As of January, annual inflation decreased to 10.8 percent in wholesale prices and to 16.2 percent in consumer prices.
According to 12-month averages as of January of 2004, annual inflation became 23.6 percent in wholesale prices and 24.4 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in the private sector of manufacturing industry which is called core inflation rate became 0.6 percent in January of 2004.
