Gul's Presidential Candidacy - Anavatan And D.Y.P. Boards To Convene

ANKARA - Motherland Party (ANAVATAN) Central Decision Executive Board (MKYK) will convene on Wednesday, and True Path Party (DYP) General Administrative Board (GIK) on Thursday, upon announcement of FM Abdullah Gul's candidacy for president.
The two parties called on their highest-level boards to convene to adopt a position regarding FM Gul's candidacy.
ANAVATAN MKYK will convene on Wednesday under chairmanship of party leader Erkan Mumcu, while DYP GIK will hold a meeting under DYP leader Mehmet Agar on Thursday.
Earlier, Mumcu and Agar decided to act jointly regarding presidential election.
Early on Tuesday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Abdullah Gul is the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) candidate for the presidential election.
