DIYARBAKIR - Turkish businessman Resat Sevket Akalin died in Sunday`s twin suicide attacks on bureaus of the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), and the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan (PUK) in Irbil city of Iraq.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Monday that Akalin, who went to Irbil to spend the Feast of Sacrifice, was among those who lost their lives in the suicide attacks in Irbil.
Akalin had served as commercial attache at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He had been owner of Bo-Tan International Fair Services Company in southeastern province of Diyarbakir.
Akalin had been holding talks with Iraqi officials about the fair to be organized by Iraqi-American Businessmen`s Association in Irbil in April.
Body of Akalin will be brought to Turkey later today.
