Exports By Automotive Sector Increase By 58 Percent

BURSA - Exports by automotive sector increased 58 percent to 697 million 428 thousand U.S. dollars in January of 2004.
In the same period of 2002, exports by automotive sector had been 441 million 410 thousand U.S. dollars.
Uludag Exporters' Associations (UIB) told the A.A on Monday that exports of by-industry products increased to 237 million 580 thousand U.S. dollars while exports of automobiles increased to 266 million 850 thousand U.S. dollars.
The sector exported its products to 10 free zones and 124 countries and autonomous regions in January of 2004.
Germany was ranked first with 108 million 853 thousand U.S. dollars among the countries to which automotive exports were made. France, Italy, Spain and Britain followed Germany.
The sector exported its products to Andorra, St. Vincent, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Australian Ocenia, Serbia, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Mauritius, Comoro Islands and Alaska for the first time.
