COLOGNE - Environment and Forestry Minister Osman Pepe Friday called on German investors to invest in Turkey.
Pepe visited waste water reprocessing plant in Cologne, Germany and received information from officials.
Environment and Forestry Minister Pepe said that Turkey needed such projects but it should find necessary finance.
Pepe called on German businessmen to find finance and invest in Turkey.
Turkey needed waste water reprocessing plants, Pepe said.
Noting that German companies were experienced in such projects, Pepe called on German businessmen to make investments in Turkey.
Pepe said that Germany, as a European Union (EU) member, was luckier than Turkey in using incentives, funds and sources allocated to such projects by the EU.
Therefore, Pepe called on German businessmen to make joint investments.
Pepe later met with Leon Macioszek, the Director of Department for Europe and Asia of KfW Group.
Following this meeting, Pepe told reporters that the organization would grant 25 million Euro to Turkey every year for water reprocessing projects in six cities.
Pepe said that the loan would be increased to 100 million Euro at first stage and then discussions would be held to increase it to 200 million Euro.
Environment and Forestry Minister Pepe and accompanying delegation later left for Turkey.
Pepe went to German capital Berlin on Wednesday for an official visit.
Environment and Forestry Minister Pepe met with German Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Security Juergen Trittin and German Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul on Thursday.
Following these meetings, Pepe proceeded from Berlin to Cologne.
Pepe met with Baerbel Hoehn, Minister of Environment and Social Affairs of State North Rhine-Westphalia earlier in the day.
