NEW YORK - Turkey's Promotion Office in New York received totally five medals in advertisement and public relations categories given by organization of Hospitality, Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) on Thursday.
HSMAI, which is a leading sales and marketing organization in hosting and tourism industry, has given two gold, one silver and two bronze awards to Turkey's New York Promotion Office. The awards were given in a ceremony held at New York Marriot Hotel in which 800 guests participated.
The awards given by the organization which was founded in 1927, which had 60 branches in 35 countries and which had 7000 registered members, in the travel sector and in categories of advertisement and public relations are accepted as the most prestigious awards in the world. More than 1500 applications from 50 countries were made for this year's competition.
The 98-member evaluation commission chosen from professionals in travel sector, gave gold medal to Turkey's Promotion Office in advertisement category with its open air promotion campaign carried out on buses, telephone kiosks and billboards. The office received two bronze awards for its newspaper and TV advertisement series. The office was awarded with silver medal in the category of ''general advertisement'' in which no gold medal was given and with gold medal in public relations category.
