Atacanli: There Is No Change In Our Views About North Of Iraq And Iraq

ANKARA - Presidential Office's Chief Advisor for Foreign Affairs Sermet Atacanli said on Friday that there was no change in Turkey's views about north of Iraq and Iraq.
Responding to a question about the recent statements of Kurdish groups in north of Iraq during his news conference, Atacanli said that ''we also hear such news and the President is also informed about these developments. Our views about north of Iraq and Iraq are known. There is no change in our views and no such change should be expected. Turkey will not certainly change or direct its policy on Iraq and north of Iraq according to such statements of groups there.''
Atacanli said that the main target of Iranian Vice President Mohsen Mehr-Alizadeh to Turkey was to thank Turkey for the aid and support it extended to Iraq due to the earthquake disaster in Bam city. Noting that Mehr-Alizadeh conveyed the thank-you message of Iranian President Mohammad Khatami to President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Atacanli added that the issue of north of Iraq didn't come to agenda during the meeting.
