Police Seize 45 Kg Of Heroin In Two Operations

HAKKARI - Police seized 45 kg of heroin in two separate operations launched in Yuksekova town of eastern Hakkari province on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, Yuksekova narcotics teams stopped a car and found 10.2 kg of heroin wrapped in one kilogram bags hidden in a secret part of the car. In another control in the same place, police teams seized 34.5 kg of heroin in a second car.
Officials said that four persons in connection with the haul worth of 1 trillion Turkish liras, were taken into custody.
Hakkari Security Director Yasar Agdere said that they took action following the seizure of 1 ton of heroin in Istanbul.
He added that narcotics teams seized 2.5 tons of heroin in the last two years.
