LEFKOSA - TRNC Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat said on Thursday that the claims saying that solution in Cyprus would take Turkish Cypriots away from Turkey, adding that relations with Turkey would continue forever.
TRNC Prime Minister Talat received the same day Turkish Ambassador to TRNC Hayati Guven.
Guven said that he visited Talat to congratulate the new TRNC government, adding that the parliamentary elections in TRNC which were monitored by everybody was held in a democratic and positive atmosphere.
Guven noted that CTP-DP coalition government came to power in a difficult period, noting that Turkish Embassy in TRNC worked in close cooperation with all governments to date and this would continue.
''Our aim is to bring happiness, prosperity and more civilized standards to Turkish Cypriot people. We will work in cooperation with you,'' Guven told Talat.
TRNC Prime Minister Talat said in his part that TRNC and Turkey should be in close solidarity and cooperation with each other in this critical period, commenting that the fate of TRNC and Turkey was in question.
Mehmet Ali Talat said that they would be in close cooperation with the Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa, adding that they would like to further improve relations with governments in Turkey.
''We came to power to ensure social reconciliation. Turkey will play a very important role in this regard. I believe that Turkey will fulfill this role. This process is both ensuring social reconciliation and advancing a solution on the island,'' Talat said.
Talat said that the assistance of Turkey to TRNC would never end or lessen.
