WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Department of State reacted over Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (IKDP) leader Masoud Barzani who said on Saturday "Turkey is not allowed to intervene in the Kirkuk issue and if it does, we will interfere in Diyarbakir's issues and other cities in Turkey."
U.S. Department of State spokesman Sean McCormack said Barzani's remarks were "unhelpful."
"They certainly do not further the goal of greater Turkish-Iraqi cooperation on issues of common concern, including fighting the (terrorist organization) PKK," said McCormack at a daily press briefing in Washington D.C.
