Tusiad's Representation In Washington To Organize Two Events During Prime Minister Erdogan's Visit

ISTANBUL - Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association's (TUSIAD) representation in the United States will organize two events during Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to U.S. capital Washington.
A statement of TUSIAD said on Monday that TUSIAD U.S. Representative Office would host Francis Fukuyama, the Dean of the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University, on January 28.
The statement said that the conference on U.S. foreign policy after Iraq war would be held at the Fairmont Hotel.
Fukuyama, who became world-famous thanks to his thesis in his book entitled ''The End of History and The Last Man'' (1992), has won many awards. Fukuyama is known for his objection to Samuel Huntington, who foresees ''clash of civilizations.''
Francis Fukuyama is also known for his work on democratization, international politics and economy.
The Representative Office will host a breakfast on overview from Washington on Turkish-U.S. relations on January 29.
TUSIAD's representative to Washington Abdullah Akyuz, Zaman daily's representative in Washington Ali Aslan, Nixon Center International Security and Energy Program Director Zeyno Baran, Milliyet daily and CNN Turk's representative in Washington Yasemin Congar and Brookings Institution Turkey Program Director Omer Taspinar will speak in the meeting.
Internal political developments in the United States and Turkey, European Union (EU) and Cyprus, EU-U.S. relations, Middle East and Iraq policy of the United States, Islam and democracy, Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline project and Armenian issue will be high on agenda in the panel discussion.
