ARTVIN - Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Union of Chambers of Commodity and Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) would undertake the construction of Sarp Border Gate as of August and by this way, Turkey would have a modern border gate.
After participating in the inauguration of Borcka Dam, Erdogan proceeded to the Sarp Border Gate in northeastern city of Artvin, together with State Minister Besir Atalay, Justice Minister Cemil Cicek, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, Public Works and Housing Minister Faruk Nafiz Ozak and Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim.
After examining the border gate, Erdogan had a talk with Levan Varshalomidze, PM of Georgia`s Autonomous Republic of Ajaria, who met him at the buffer zone.
Addressing the public afterwards, Erdogan said that TOBB would carry out the construction process of the border gate.
Underscoring that the project would be implemented at the Georgian side as well, Erdogan said, "I believe, all these activities will create a different energy and synergy in the region".
