ANKARA - Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said Sunday Turkey will learn its presidential candidate between April 16th and 26th.
In a TV program on Channel 7, Sener reminded that ruling Justice & Development Party (AKP) has its party meeting on April 18th.
"This matter (presidential candidate) will probably be discussed at this meeting. But the issue will not be adjudicated, but only the process will be discussed," he said.
Recalling that presidential elections is a secret voting at the parliament, Sener said the candidate will not be announced as a party resolution.
"It will be a candidacy process based on proposals by deputies with free will. That`s what the constitution lays down," he added.
Sener also noted that he felt no anomalies regarding the process of presidential elections and reactions so far. "I do not think that we encountered any situation out of law and order," he said.
