French Embassy: News Reports Regarding An Embassy In Erbil Are Misunderstanding

ANKARA - French Embassy in Turkey said Sunday that news reports regarding a French Embassy to be opened in Erbil town of Iraq stemmed from misunderstanding.
The Embassy said France had been considering to set up an office (in Erbil) of French Embassy in Baghdad.
French Embassy said the office would not be a diplomatic representation, but just an office of the French Embassy in Baghdad.
"No date has been set for the opening of the office. France defends and is committed to Iraq`s territorial integrity," the Embassy said.
