PROVOCATION THREAT
Massoud Barzani threatened Turkey. Peshmerga, who overstepped the line, carried his bully behavior to remarks saying, "I will provoke southeast (of Turkey) in response to Kirkuk."
"If Turkey intervenes in Kirkuk for Turkmens, we will intervene in Diyarbakir and southeastern region of Turkey. I am telling Ankara what will happen," the arrogant said.

BLACK SEA COASTAL ROAD TO MEET BOSPHORUS BRIDGE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated 542 km. long Black Sea coastal road with longest tunnel of Turkey (3,820 m) with a ceremony. "The Black Sea Coastal Road will lead to a third bridge to be constructed over Istanbul Strait, and then to Europe," he said.

BARZANI THREATENED TURKEY
Barzani overstepped the line in his menacing wording against Turkey. Barzani who said "we would intervene in Diyarbakir" signalled that he would agitate the Kurds living in the southeast.
Barzani who talked to Al Arabiya television said if Turkey would interfere in Kirkuk, they would interfere in Diyarbakir. "If Turks interfere in Kirkuk for a few thousand Turkmen, we would take action for 30 million Kurds in Turkey."

SHE COULD NOT SEE HER WORK
The Coastal Road that connects Black Sea`s one end to the other, is inaugurated with a ceremony at the "Ordu Nefise Akcelik Tunnel". However, engineer Nefise Akcelik who is one of the creators of the tunnel, was not there because she died of cancer.
Black Sea Coastal Road officially came into service at the point where the longest highway tunnel of Turkey with 3,800 meters is located. Nefise Akcelik was not able to see inauguration of both of her projects, Bolu Tunnel and Black Sea Coastal Road, for she died of breast cancer in 2003 when she was 48 years old.

ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF DENSE FOG IN THE BOSPHORUS
The motorboat that goes on the Eminonu - Uskudar line at Istanbul strait hit a sand coaster because of dense fog yesterday. One of the passengers in the motorboat Ilhan Yaris (39) died because he bumped his head (within the motorboat). 42 passengers were injured.

PESHMERGA WENT TOO FAR
Barzani: if Turkey intervenes in Kirkuk, we would interfere in Diyarbakir and other cities.
Barzani who talked to Al Arabiya television said, "Kirkuk is a Kurdish city. This issue is not the business of Ankara." When asked "are you threatening Turkey?" he replied "I only say what would happen if Turkey intervenes."

TWO TURKISH ENGINEERS KIDNAPPED IN NIGERIA
Two Turkish engineers who were working in Nigeria on provisional duties were kidnapped the night before. Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking steps for rescuing the engineers who are believed to be kidnapped for ransom.
Two Turkish engineers Ilker Izci and Murat Orhan were kidnapped by gunmen from their car in Port Harcourt in Nigeria`s oil-producing Niger Delta. The engineers were employed by Turkey`s Merpa Company, that is the partner of Italian Petroleum Company AGIP.

KEEP WITHIN LIMITS
Massoud Barzani once again threatened Turkey. As Ankara took major steps to postpone a referandum in Kirkuk, Barzani appeared on Al-Arabiya and spoke:
"There are 30 million Kurdish people in Turkey. Are we interfering them? They are interfering in Kirkuk for a few thousand Turkmens. If they keep doing this, we will interfere in Diyarbakir."

"WE WILL CONNECT THE BLACK SEA HIGHWAY TO 3RD BRIDGE"
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated the Black Sea Coastal Road yesterday. Erdogan said, "this road will be connected with 3rd bridge to be constructed over Istanbul Strait and it will meet with Europe." 4.2 billion USD spent since 1987 for the road.

BARZANI PROVOKES
Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani spoke harshly against Turkey on Al-Arabiya TV channel. "We will not let Turkey to intervene in Kirkuk. Kirkuk is an Iraqi city with a Kurdish identity, historically and geographically," Barzani said. "Turkey is not allowed to intervene in the Kirkuk issue and if it does, we will interfere in Diyarbakir`s issues and other cities in Turkey," Barzani said. Asked if he meant to threaten Turkey, Barzani responded that he was telling Ankara what would happen "if Turkey interferes."

HE TALKED LIKE THE PRIME MINISTER
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul who usually spends his weekends in Ankara or his hometown Kayseri, went to Bursa for some inauguration ceremonies yesterday. Gul said they would make income per capita 10,000 USD if they come to office again.
Many believe that FM Gul will become the prime minister in case of PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s presidency.
Yesterday was a different day for Foreign Minister Gul. He attended to several inauguration ceremonies in Bursa, as PM Erdogan was in northern city of Ordu. Gul said they have not decided on a candidate for presidency. He made promises saying they would make national income per capita 10,000 USD if they are in the office in the next term.

AVEA: WHAT TURKCELL DOES IS INCOHERENT
GSM operator Avea got angry to Turkcell, because it went to Council of State for annulment of "Transferable Phone Number Regulation." Cuneyt Turktan, Avea Chairman of Executive Board, defined the initiative as a blow on consumer rights.
Turkcell went to the Council of State for annulment of the "transferable phone number regulation" that allows Turkcell subscribers to change their GSM operators without changing their numbers. First reaction came from Avea. In a written statement, Turktan said this right is provided to consumers in all EU countries and in many countries around the world. He added that this regulation is a big step that would carry mobile communications sector to a real competitive atmosphere in Turkey. Turktan added that Avea is surprised about Turkcell`s decision to go to court. "Turkcell supported this regulation from the first time it came into effect, and said they support the process. Those statements were confirmative with our company`s line of thinking too."

DREAMS COME TRUE
Black Sea Coastal Road was inaugurated by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan said their new goal is to extend the road to Istanbul and connect it with the 3rd bridge to be constructed over Istanbul Strait.

PROUD OF ELVAN
Turkish athlete Elvan Abeylegesse was like a storm on tracks. Elvan won the gold medal at European Cup 10,000m Challenge in Italy`s Ferrara town. "It has been a wonderful boost to my morale for the upcoming challenges. Thanks to everyone who supported me," she said.

FREE UNIVERSITY BUS TO DEMONSTRATION FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Some university rectors give full support to Kemalist Thought Association`s demonstrations regarding presidential elections. Following a deferral of exams at Inonu University in eastern city of Malatya to increase the participation, Cukurova University in southern city of Adana allocated free buses for the demonstrations. However, it was not enough to draw students` interests.

TUSKON`S PACIFIC SUMMIT GATHERS BUSINESSMEN FROM 14 COUNTRIES
After building foreign trade bridges to develop Turkish economy, Confederation of Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) organized a new event. Following its Eurasia and Africa Summits, TUSKON gathered businessmen from 14 countries in Istanbul at its Pacific Summit.

"My dream is to connect the Black Sea highway to 3rd bridge over Istanbul strait and to Europe," said Prime Minister Erdogan who inaugurated the Black Sea Coastal Road of 542 kilometers, connecting 6 cities, 63 districts, and 9 ports.
Prime Minister inaugurated the the Black Sea Coastal Road that was put into tender 20 years ago by former Prime Minister Turgut Ozal. 60 percent of the highway was constructed in the last 4 years.
Erdogan who made the opening with 7 ministers said his dream is to connect the highway to Istanbul through the coast, adding "when we make this, Turkey will have the longest coastal road in the world."
