BURSA - There has been 15.5 percent increase in textile and 8.5 percent increase in confection exports from northwestern city of Bursa in the first quarter of 2007.
Bursa, one of the most important centers of ready-to-wear and textile sectors in Turkey, has made approximately 398.1 million USD worth of exports in January - March period of 2007.
According to the data from Uludag Exporters Union (UIB), ready-to-wear & confection exports has reached 144.1 million USD in the first three months of 2007, with 8.5 percent increase. The textile exports has increased 15.5 percent, meaning 254.6 million USD, in the same period.
The city exports textile products to 8 free trade zones, and 93 countries and autonomous regions, and ready-to-wear products to 5 free trade zones and 76 countries.
