TBILISI - "We are ready to make every contribution to help Georgia have a strong naval force in Black Sea region," said Admiral Murat Ozanalp, the commander of TCG-Gokova Frigate which arrived in Batumi port for Starfish-2007 military training exercise.
A formal welcoming ceremony was held at Batumi port which was participated by Georgian Naval Forces Deputy Commander Admiral Mikeil Bajeridze, Turkish Consul General in Batumi Kazim Cavusoglu as well as other military officials.
Admiral Ozanalp told A.A that the cooperation in maritime between Turkey and Georgia is developing each day, adding that Turkish warships visit Georgian ports twice a year.
Noting that there are Turkish warships in ports of all Black Sea littoral countries within the scope of Starfish-2007 training maneuvers, Admiral Ozanalp said that Turkish warships will stay for three days in Batumi port and pursue a joint training maneuver with elements of Georgian Naval Forces.
He added that Naval Forces carry out training exercises especially to support peace.
